On April 17th at the RTO4 AGM James and Alan were nominated and unanimously approved as Directors for RTO4.
James has been a tourism development force in South Huron for more than a decade. James built his restaurant, Eddington’s of Exeter in the original Carling homestead on the main street of downtown Exeter. It combines old country charm with the best of ingredients and ingenuity that Huron has to offer. James is working with Huron and South Huron peers to realize a vision for Exeter to leverage its tourism position as “the gateway to Ontario’s West Coast.”
Alan Boivin first joined the RTO4 Board in 2010 and was on the Executive committee as treasurer. Tapped by management in 2011 to run both the Delta Guelph and Delta Kitchener properties he regretfully had to step down. As of April 17th we are glad to have him back on board. Alan brings a wealth of sophisticated large hotel management experience. He is a founding member of the Guelph chapter of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association and is actively involved in Tourism and economic development in the region. Alan was recently quoted in Canadian Lodging News, “It is critical that a unified voice be heard by all levels of government about the crucial role that the tourism industry plays in our region.”
